Profile machining using cutter diameter compensation is widely used in die and mould manufacturing. Especially automotive die makers try to use 3D-profile machining for trimming or flange dies. But the technological requirements and implementation issues haven't been defined.
The profile shape of Trimming Die or Flange Die which are manufactured in automobile and die factory is almost not 2D curve in plane but is 3D curve in 3D space. But most of them relies on manual operation at machining because there is not CAM system supplying 3D profile machining. This 3D-Pro CAM System generates NC data excluding collision with hold and shank and cutter diameter compensation(G41/G42) Code.
